What you will do as Senior Data Management Specialist



Please note that this role can be based in our Edinburgh, Stockholm or Amsterdam office. Interviews will be held after the Christmas Holiday, in the beginning of January.

The Postcode Lottery Group is building an Data and Analytics department to provide our lotteries with the right models, tools, tech, and best-practices to help realize our growth ambition. In this hub you will be working together with business representatives to identify value adding business cases for advanced statistical analytics. You will be working on exciting and challenging BI, data & AI projects that create real impact for the lotteries and our beneficiary organizations.

How you will make a difference

The Senior Data Management Specialist is responsible for defining and implementing the data management strategy across Postcode Lottery Group. This role ensures data quality, governance, and compliance while enabling efficient data operations and supporting business objectives. You will lead initiatives that establish robust data standards, oversee data lifecycle management, and drive adoption of best practices.

Reporting directly to the Group Data Management Lead, you will manage data governance frameworks, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed data management principles across the organisation.

This is what you will do

  • Define and maintain the Group-wide data management strategy and governance framework.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Oversee data lifecycle management, including acquisition, storage, usage, and disposal.
  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to embed data management practices into processes and systems.
  • Develop and enforce data policies, standards, and procedures across all markets.
  • Monitor and report on data quality metrics and compliance adherence.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data management capabilities.
  • Lead data stewardship programs and provide guidance to data owners and custodians.
  • Support risk management by identifying and mitigating data-related risks.
  • Champion a culture of data accountability and transparency throughout the organisation.

About you

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in data management, governance, or related disciplines.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement data policies and standards across complex international organisations.
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with data quality tools, metadata management, and master data management solutions.
  • Ability to influence and drive cultural change towards data-centric decision-making.
