What you will do as Data Enterprise Architect

* Please note that this role can be based in our Edinburgh, Stockholm or Amsterdam office *

The Data Enterprise Architect is responsible for defining and governing the enterprise-wide data architecture for the Postcode Lottery Group. This role ensures that data flows, data structures, and information concepts are consistently designed, integrated, and governed across all business systems and markets. You will shape how data is organised and used throughout PLG, enabling high-quality, trusted, and connected data that supports business operations, regulatory demands, and strategic decision-making.

Reporting directly to the Group Data Governance & Management Lead, you will define the conceptual and support logical data architecture, ensure alignment across domains, and collaborate with enterprise architects, system owners, and delivery teams to embed consistent data design principles across the organisation. In this role, you will drive the definition and adoption of shared data standards, promote coherent end-to-end data flows, and ensure that data is managed as a strategic asset.

What you’ll do:

  • Shape the enterprise data architecture: Develop and maintain the enterprise-wide conceptual and logical data architecture, ensuring consistency of data definitions, relationships, and flows across systems and domains.
  • Guide system and solution integration: Ensure that data dependencies, interfaces, and information flows between business systems are well-defined, efficient, and future-proof.
  • Design coherent data models: Lead the creation and maintenance of enterprise data models and data domain structures supporting operational, analytical, and regulatory needs.
  • Align data architecture across the enterprise: Collaborate closely with Enterprise Architects, system owners, and Group Tech to ensure data architecture principles are embedded in system roadmaps and transformation initiatives.
  • Strengthen data governance and compliance: Partner with Data Management, Legal, and Cyber Security to ensure that data standards, quality rules, privacy requirements, and regulatory obligations are consistently applied across all systems.
  • Enable business insight through connected data: Ensure that critical data entities are consistently represented across systems to enable group-wide reporting, analytics, and operational alignment.
  • Champion enterprise-wide data thinking: Promote standardisation, reuse, and cross-market alignment in how data is captured, structured, and managed across the organisation.

About you

You’d describe yourself as follows:

  • Master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise architecture, or large-scale data design.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and govern cross-system data structures and end-to-end data flows.
  • Deep understanding of data modeling, data integration patterns, and enterprise information architecture principles.
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and communication skills to align diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven experience working with data governance, data quality, privacy, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into coherent data designs.
  • Strategic, conceptual thinker with a pragmatic and collaborative approach.
  • A monthly salary indication between €6.000,- and €8.100,- based on a 40-hour week and flexible working hours.
  • This role can be based in our Edinburgh, Stockholm or Amsterdam office.
